Art Reproduction Specialist
Job Summary: You will be responsible for reproducing art; including image files, giclee printing and art finishing. This position requires color skill and care; and involves computer and physical work. 16-32 hours / wk (Can be full-time with additional book production or design work).
Production Responsibilities:
Files and digitizing:
- Checking supplied files for potential image quality issues
- Scanning or photo capture of art to a standard of excellence.
- Maintaining files on the server.
Printing:
- Maintaining color calibration and paper profiles
- Test and final printing use an HP z6200 photo printer driven from Onyx PosterShop
Finishing:
- Coating canvas
- Trimming and packaging
- Canvas stretching
- Dry mounting
- Matte and framing
Maintaining fine art media and supplies
Assist with housekeeping and other general help
Performs job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees.
Maintain production charts and records
Job Qualifications:
- Computer skills - PhotoShop, Onyx RIP
- Mechanical skills - stretching and framing
- Related experience (photo lab, framing, sign shop, ... )
- Color management understanding
- Graphic arts training
- Color theory and practice
- Communication and administration skills
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- High attention to detail and a craftsman attitude
- Manual dexterity for hand work
- General mechanical understanding.
- Ability to cooperate and communicate with co-workers and supervisors
- Update computerized project records
- Frequent turning, bending, lifting, and standing
You will be responsible for reproducing art; including image files (scan, capture, color balance, giclee printing and art finishing (stretching, dry mounting, framing). This position requires color skill and care; and involves computer (PhotoShop, Onyx RIP) computer, HP design jet printers and physical work (coating, stretching).
Currently part-time with the option to combine with additional graphic production for full-time. Previous photo, color lab, graphic design, experience or training required.
